Restaurant & Bars

The Tuscan hotel, Castello del Nero, is also renowned for the exceptional standards of its fine dining at the La Torre restaurant. Once the castle’s stables, the elegant dining room allows guests to dine by the historical fireplace or eat al fresco on the Garden Terrace overlooking the Chianti valley. The Executive Chef uses local, organic produce to create sublime Tuscan cuisine and some exquisite signature dishes, making everything, including the bread, pastries and pasta, by hand.

La Torre Restaurant

Located in the former stables of Castello del Nero, our one Michelin Star La Torre Restaurant, showcases a meticulously researched menu, designed to deliver the best of Italian and Tuscan Traditions. This is thanks to the fresh and genuine ingredients bought from local farmers, or from the herbs taken directly from the Castello’s organic garden, carefully tended by Chef himself. The innovative a la carte menu offers a large range of dishes elaborated by the Executive Chef Giovanni Luca Di Pirro and based on the Tuscan flavours, and created by using these fresh local products. Bespoke service is at the heart of the guest experience in La Torre Restaurant and the staff - in the restaurant led by Maitre d' Tiziano Siggillino as well as in the kitchen - are experts in local ingredients and Italian cooking techniques. Di Pirro explained how attention to detail underpins the dining experience: “Each dish we present is very much imbued with a sense of place and is served with flair and pride. Provenance is extremely important to us and we have spent many years building strong relationships with farmers and suppliers in Italy and Tuscany and beyond to ensure we have only the finest and the freshest ingredients.”

La Taverna Restaurant

Located in the former kitchens of the Castle, La Taverna Restaurant proposes genuine and typical dishes from the Tuscan tradition, for both lunch and dinner. This dining room is located on the ground floor close to the bar, and offers a rustic and cozy venue next to original fireplace, where guests can try local dishes paired with a good red wine produced in the Castello del Nero Estate. During the summer months the entire dining service moves to the external garden (weather permitting) nearby the swimming pool and only a few steps from the Organic Garden that Executive Chef Di Pirro cares for with devotion. La Taverna by the Pool is an informal venue where guests can sit and relax by the poolside and taste a light lunch and enjoy their meals, by choosing from a wide selection of meat, vegetables and fish to be grilled, while on the BBQ, while admiring a breathtaking panoramic view on the Tuscan hills.

The Bar

The Bar in this Chianti hotel is located in what was formerly the Castello del Nero's kitchen – a series of high ceilinged rooms featuring the original wooden beams, attractive stone walls and terracotta tiled floors. The interconnected spaces of The Bar are the perfect setting to relax and soak up the history and heritage of the castle's past. Sipping on one of the hotel's many reserve cognacs it is easy to imagine oneself as a Baron of the past enjoying the fruits of this magnificent Tuscan wine estate. The Bar menu also includes a fine selection of both Tuscan and international wines as well as beers, grappa, whiskey and cocktails, or ask the experienced bar staff to recommend something to match your mood. Light lunches and snacks are served all day and during the warmer months guests can enjoy service whilst relaxing on the panoramic terrace or in the garden surrounding the hotel's heated swimming pool.

Wine Cellar
